We humans are creatures of habit. But unfortunately, some of our habits are hurting our health. So much so that the CDC has called chronic disease “the public health challenge of the 21st century.”

Why? Because changing behavior is really, really hard. And sticking with the changes we’ve made over the long haul is even harder. But it’s not impossible. That’s where Omada®   comes in.

We use the latest technology to bring real, human support to help people achieve their health goals through sustainable lifestyle change. Our customized digital care programs for prevention, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and behavioral health address the whole person to empower healthy patterns that last.

As the COVID-19 pandemic swept the globe, people everywhere wondered: What makes this disease so especially infectious? It was scientists at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, working with evidence gathered in the National Quarantine Unit, in the new $119 million Dr. Edwin G. & Dorothy Balbach Davis Global Center on UNMC’s Omaha campus, who found the SARS-CoV-2 virus spreads through airborne transmission.

UNMC, which also led the first clinical trial in the U.S. on the use of remdesivir to treat patients hospitalized with COVID-19, is known internationally for its expertise in the field of biopreparedness and high-consequence special pathogens. Here at home, UNMC is proud to be Nebraska’s only public academic health sciences center, committed to the next-generation education of our state’s health care work force. We are innovators in rural primary care and roots-deep in Nebraska’s soil, serving our state and its communities through award-winning outreach.

Listening to the wishes of ratepayers and other stakeholders, OPPD and other public power utilities have undergone swift transformation in recent years. This includes everything from adding renewable energy resources and creating a strong environment for economic development to spurring innovation and implementing cost-saving practices that help keep rates affordable.

Nebraska residents enjoy some of the lowest electric rates in the country. In fact, Nebraska’s average kilowatt-hour rate is 31% below the average of those states with retail choice (Source:  U.S. Energy Information Administration). Additionally, in 2016 OPPD committed to a five-year general rate freeze for its customers.
