Amanda McKinney, M.D. is a triple board certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery and Lifestyle Medicine. She is both a Fellow and a member of the Board of Directors of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and she is the Executive Director of Doane University’s Institute for Human and Planetary Health (IHPH). She founded the IHPH to improve human health by transforming medical education and healthcare delivery and by creating healthy, resilient communities. Creating a culture of healthy, plant-based foods, grown sustainably, will have a positive impact on human and planetary health.
Lifestyle Medicine addresses the root causes of disease, rather than treating the symptoms. As such, Lifestyle Medicine can be used in the workplace to improve employee health and productivity while lowering health care costs. In this presentation, we’ll discuss the pillars and principles of Lifestyle Medicine and how they can be implemented in the workplace.
